How Do I Clean Up After Painting?

Water-Based (Latex) Paint: Clean tools with warm water + soap Rinse brushes and rollers until water runs clear Easy and quick cleanup 👍 Oil-Based Paint: Use paint thinner or mineral spirits Rinse tools in thinner first, then wash with soap & water Takes a bit more time and care Rollers & Brushes Tips: Clean immediately after use (don’t let paint dry) Spin or shake out excess water before drying Store once fully dry Paint Spills: Wet paint: wipe immediately with damp cloth Dried paint: may need scraping or cleaner depending on surface Simple rule: Water-based = Soap & water Oil-based = Thinner first, then soap & water
