How Do I Clean Up After Painting?
Water-Based (Latex) Paint:
Clean tools with warm water + soap
Rinse brushes and rollers until water runs clear
Easy and quick cleanup 👍
Oil-Based Paint:
Use paint thinner or mineral spirits
Rinse tools in thinner first, then wash with soap & water
Takes a bit more time and care
Rollers & Brushes Tips:
Clean immediately after use (don’t let paint dry)
Spin or shake out excess water before drying
Store once fully dry
Paint Spills:
Wet paint: wipe immediately with damp cloth
Dried paint: may need scraping or cleaner depending on surface
Simple rule:
Water-based = Soap & water
Oil-based = Thinner first, then soap & water
